InsightzClub is a platform served as a service for consumer brands and agencies to obtain consumer insights by matching them to data suppliers using API technology and machine learning.

  • Intelligent aggregation of multiple communities to obtain consumer insights.
  • InsightzClub's first offering is online surveys.
  • InsightzClub helps consumer brands and agencies to obtain consumer insights in a way that is faster, of higher data quality and more cost efficient by matching them to multiple data supplier's communities using API technology and machine learning.
  • InsightzClub is essentially a marketplace with customers (consumer brands and agencies) on one side and data partners/suppliers on another side.  A data partner is essentially an online database/community of an audience pool.

Problem/Opportunity

Current consumer research methods have not changed in decades (gap in data collection methods and internet penetration) and continue to have a lot of manual and tedious processes (i.e contacting multiple suppliers, project management, etc).

This has led to 3 key customer issues:

  1. Long turnaround time (time to get the results/insights often not in line with the business decision-making timelines),
  2. Data quality (data often skewed and not representative and unable to reach niche or specific audiences).
  3. High costs (poor ROI in terms of the amount invested)

InsightzClub’s solution offers consumer brands and agencies the following benefits:

  1. Real-time insights (~30 to 35% faster in terms of data collection due to parallel data collection from multiple communities/databases integrated with InsightzClub)   
  2. Higher data quality (has a huge cumulative audience pool to tap into, more representative and able to reach specific audiences) 
  3. Cost efficient (~15% cheaper compared to the market benchmark due to automation of the project management overheads and volume deals with data partners).

Revenue Model

Transaction model for each valid person surveyed from a data partner.

InsightzClub pays 8 USD for each person surveyed to the suppliers and sells it at 11 USD (28% margin) for every person surveyed. The selling price of InsightzClub is still lower than the market average of 14 USD per person surveyed. An average study consists of approximately 300 samples/people to be surveyed which translates to a value of approx 3300 USD per project.

Traction & Accomplishments

Since its launch 10 months ago, InsightzClub has achieved the following:

  • US$150K Revenue
  • 20% growth MOM
  • 27% gross margin

InsightzClub currently has 10 paying customers including:

Customers love the InsightzClub platform & solution and 90% of them are repeat customers and have used InsightzClub for multiple engagements.

Potential pipeline of $1.15 Mil USD over the next 3-4 months with the following customers:

Use of Funds

62% of the investment would be used for manpower hiring costs (hiring 5 pax -  Regional Sales Director, Customer Success Managers, Full Stack Engineers & Operations Manager). The headcount will grow from 4 pax to 9 pax.

15% of the investment would be used for marketing costs (international business development costs, marketing subsidies for new customers, conference & event marketing costs)

15% of the investment would be used for tech licensing costs (survey tool annual licensing costs, licensing costs for API, additional outsourced tech manpower)

8% of the investment would be used for finance and general costs (office in Singapore and Malaysia)

Team

The two Co-Founders have senior leadership experience in working across various segments in the consumer insights (both buyers and suppliers) sector, spanning top market research and media agencies, analytics consulting and consumer brands. They have worked in companies like Nielsen, Rocket Internet/Lazada, Kantar, IPG Mediabrands and many more.The CTO has more than 20 yrs of experience in product and technology management. The team has graduated from top schools globally like London School of Economics (LSE) and INSEAD.
